Sustainability Improvement Service We act as consultants, advisors and mentors. We are happy to help you or your organisation to mainstream sustainable development, or with any aspect from stakeholder involvement to the nitty-gritty of EMAS. European funding We are actively involved in European funded projects, working with local authorities in member-states, Accession Countries and wider afield. We are always keen to welcome new partners. For further information click here.
Best practice Through our work with our European colleagues we are aware of the inspiring range of fresh ideas and best practice that can be seen in many other countries. Why reinvent the wheel? The UK has much to learn in many areas, G2L offers a range of training courses, and also - with our network of contacts - tailored study tours to see at first -hand how practitioners in the public and private sector elsewhere are making progress. For further information click here.
Procurement Procurement is an extremely powerful tool for delivering change up the supply chain. We run a number of courses on the topic, and we are involved in a number of European funded projects. For further information click here.
Energy Another example of “easy to talk about, harder to do”. Again, we are involved in a number of European-funded projects, promoting alternative fuels for vehicles, and exploring ways of encouraging the take-up of renewable energy among householders. We are advisers to the Government Office (Eastern Region), engaged on a series of contracts to help set a target for the region, and then work to overcome the barriers that appear in the planning system. For further information click here.
EMAS The EC-promoted Eco Audit and Management Scheme system is a powerful and structured tool to enable managers to identify the most sensitive environmental impacts of their work, adopt a plan for removing them, and then monitor progress. We provide information, support and mentoring to organisations to enable them to use EMAS effectively. For further information click here.
Networking Much good work is being carried out across Europe by both private and public sector organisations that are trying to improve their impact on the environment. The total amount of good practice is therefore growing rapidly. Unfortunately most organisations have not got the resources to keep an eye on best practice everywhere. We can fill this gap. For further information click here.
Environmental Services Specifications and Contracts Services such as open spaces and parks management, waste collection and management, street cleansing, highways maintenance require enormous resources, and make up some of the largest contracts that municipalities manage. We help organisations exploit the potential to make these contracts greener AND cheaper. For further information click here.
Study Tours Study Tours to look at environmental good practice in the UK and Europe are an excellent way of gaining knowledge and sharing information. Our study tours are designed for public or private sector interests on topics concerned with sustainable development including renewable energy, waste management, and transport systems. Site visits, meetings with key individuals, full briefings and all travel and accommodation are arranged. For further information click here.
