Tim Cordy BA, MPhil, MRTPI

Tim is a director of Global to Local Ltd. He is a chartered town planner. His first career was in local government where he worked as Assistant City Planning Officer in Leicester, and (after a year in French local government), Assistant Chief Executive at Bolton MBC. He then joined the voluntary sector: he spent seven years as Chief Executive of the Royal Society for Nature Conservation (the national association of the Wildlife Trusts); and two years as Director of the Town and Country Planning Association. During 1996-9 he was founder-director (managing) of a training company. Other appointments have included: Director, UK2000; Trustee, The Volunteer Centre UK; Member, DoE/NGO working group on the UK Sustainable Development Strategy; Member, LGMBs Local Agenda 21 Steering Group; Founder trustee, Environmental Training Organisation; Founder trustee, The Real World Coalition.

Tim's specialist areas include policy planning in local government and the voluntary sector, land use planning and sustainable development, vocational training. His particular role within Global to Local is to advise clients on opportunities to promote sustainable development by way of funding support from the European Commission.
