Managing your climate change impacts
EMS provides a systematic approach to focus on, and manage, the most significant environmental impacts – CO2 emissions will most likely be at the top. That means reducing CO2 as well as adapting to new climate challenges.

G2L has helped public and private organisations in the UK and across Europe to set up cost-effective environmental management systems that help to manage climate change impacts effectively.

And G2L is itself accredited to ISO14001.

Our consultants can work with you on individual, several or all aspects of your EMS working with key staff to keep the system up to date, effective and relevant. In addition in 2009 we will be able to offer an accredited verification service.

Sustainable Procurement
G2L specialises in helping clients adapt
purchasing policies and processes to reduce the environmental and social impact of the supply chain. We can do this within an EMS or as a stand-alone approach.

Our work in this Field is exemplified by the G2L support service to UK national procurement specialists; the UK
national sustainable procurement catalogue 2007-08, which we produced with ESPO for a national procurement consortium, and work we have undertaken with the NHS organisation
Welsh Health Supplies, systematically building corporate social responsibility practices into
their corporate and supply chain functions.

In addition, G2L is the UK national focal point for
Procura+, an international campaign for sustainable procurement.

 

 

European Projects
G2L undertakes work for the European Commission that has resulted in the introduction of EMAS, an environmental management system, into several
Member States.

We have been engaged in EC co-funded projects on EMAS demonstrating the advantages of bringing networks of organisations together to implement their systems which can cut costs through shared learning and exchange of knowledge and increases the effectiveness of the results.

Training
G2L provides tailor-made training and facilitation for the implementation,
management and ongoing maintenance of climate change management systems.

Community Involvement
G2L has developed Innovative approaches to community participation and
involvement through interactive facilitation. We can help engage the local community to achieve behavioural change at an individual level by running awareness campaigns and we can also run small groups or support community-based organisations such as climate change panels.

Emissions trading
G2L is ambitious and creative. We are working to find organisations keen to bundle CO2 emissions and develop systems for smaller authorities that
use local networking to generate substantial CO2 savings within their territory.

We are currently seeking EU support for this activity and are interested to make contact with other interested organisations. We can also work with the private sector to find the best approach for off-setting carbon impacts.

Corporate Social Responsibility
G2L can undertake CSR reporting and develop the process so that it also manages your climate change impacts.
