Managing the Climate Change Challenge

Climate change is one of our greatest challenges.

Many believe that it is not too late to prevent disastrous consequences,
provided we reduce our CO2 emissions by a minimum of 60% in the next 30-40 years.

Responding to the climate change challenge requires action at many levels, from highly technical international approaches, to organisational and behavioural change at the individual level.

Many companies and local authorities
already possess the solutions –
they just need to be implemented
systematically through EMS.

Companies, the public sector and other organisations
need to have a clear understanding of how climate
change impacts on their business, supply chain, and
staff or customer base, and have management solutions
in place to reduce carbon emissions.

This means the management of energy consumption
and efficiency; the use of resources; reducing the
emissions from production; finding energy efficient
methods for the transport of goods; developing green
travel plans for staff; reducing the impact of the supply
chain; waste reduction, and many other aspects related
to carbon emissions.

Through its extensive experience across Europe, Global
to Local (G2L) believes that Environmental Management
Systems (EMS) can provide the tried and tested tools to
manage and reduce carbon emissions, systematically
and efficiently, to identify and create the appropriate
results.
